Project: Media/News Website

Hey everyone!

I want to build a media/news website.
I have a server, now I need the staff!

This is what I want to do.

Basically, I want to build a website similar to:
http://www.shoutwire.com/

I want to be able to have journalists post articles, submit media, such as videos sounds etc.
I'd like users to also be able to submit articles, that would go to admin's for editing and finally submission or denial.
I'd like user's to be able to register and have their own username, password, and small profile (Much like a forum profile)
I'd like to have 4 different level of user's:

1. Registered User
2. Journalist
3. Moderator
4. Admin

I'd also like to be able to send out a monthly newsletter to all users.

You get the basic idea.

This is what I need:

PHP Coders:

Must have a very good understanding of PHP and have the ability to write, complete, secure, and stable PHP scripts that can interface with MySQL.

These scripts need to be able to do some of the following things:

1. Have an Admin Panel that is fairly flexible, making it simple to manage all the features of the website.
2. News management so journalists can post media and articles.
3. A system that users could submit articles and media with which would be reviewed, then posted.
4. And the ability to work with a Template designer to integrate the scripts with the template.
5. An advertising management system.

Template Designers:

I'd like to have a clean, layout that has nice looking buttons and things, much like shoutwire, and you must be able to work with a PHP coder, to integrate the layout with the php scripts.
As far as main colors go, I'm not sure.

Journalists:

I need Journalists to submit articles and media, you must have very good grammar, perfect really. Another requirment of a journalist would be that one article at least, needs to be submitted every week.

This is a lot to ask of users to do for free, but keep in mind, I'm paying for the server, and the domain.
All money made with advertising will be split among the staff.

I'd like to start off saying please don't apply unless your 18 years or older, and speak english. This website will be in in english only.

Also, please don't contact me unless you can really spend some time doing this. I'm very serious about this project and would love to see it take off, and I don't want to have to sift through coders and designers who only want to work for a day. I'm building a staff here, not a temporary coder, or designer. I'd like to keep in contact once the site is launched so we can all have a chance to make some money off of the advertising that would be on the website. I'm not talking annoying ads or anything, just google type ads.

Just modify Wordpress with Pligg? It's been done before.

You should check out open source projects like: PHP Nuke, PostNuke, phpNews and Geeklog. They provide 95% of what you're looking for... including admin and editorial functions. What's left is finding some designers to set up a nice template for a custom look and feel to your site... and of course, writers and journalists. Ping me if you're looking for a few good writers for tech stories and news items.
