Hi,

I was thing wich free forum software is best? Well I like IPB 1.3.1 because its soooo cool and packed with easy to understand.

What is yours

I agree, IPB 1.3.1 is the best cause
1) it's free (STILL free)
2) the admin cp is perfect and has a bunch of options (not at the level of vbulletin one, but has much more options that the phpbb one)
3) there are so many mods...
4) ...and so many skins
5) it's secure

I wouldn't say IPB 1.3 is secure cause they never update it so bugs/exploits will always be bugs/exploits.

Yea then but PHPBB does not have file uploading, Advanced Permission Masks etc. And PHPBB admintation is sooooo simple even a child can make one.

So are you telling me that a software/forum free of bugs can't exist?
Do you feel secure when you know your forum will be updated (so now it's bugged)?

Please list some of the bugs of ipb 131 version that have been discovered.
I already fixed the ones that have a fix.

I see phpbb have a lot of fixes. Why? Because it's bugged.

I agree whit Chirantha. Maurice, what's your favourite forum?

I like SMF. If IPB would fix those problems then I would use that but since they don't use SMF.

Why Post IPB 1.2 and 1.3

What you should have posted is:

IPB 1.3 and 2.0

Anyways, IPB 2.0 owns, it smashes 1.2 and 1.3

Since IPB 2.0 isn't there, I'll vote for SMF cause it rocks too

PhpBB2, I'd reccomend it for beginners because it is easy to install, not hard to administrate and not hard to moderate. It lacks features though.
