New bass

I wanted to get a new bass, anyone know if its hard to go from a 4 string to an 8 string?

well it is to my understanding that there are some 8 string basses that take on the same style has 12 string acoustic guitars where each of the core strings but then as far as i am aware there are some really wide necked bass guitars that have 6 or 7 strings on.

best bet, find a guitar shop, speak to a specialist ;-)
