welcome page just won't die!

Hey.
I made a website in iWeb and exported it. I put everything inside the public_html folder. I deleted the welcome index.html and replaced it with my own index.html. I tried to view my brand new website but it came up with teh welcome page taht i had deleted! I then emptied my cache. It still came up. I then deleted all the other folders that weren't mine inside public_html. I emptied the cache and tried to access my page. still teh welcome page comes up. I try a different browser. Still the welcome page. I try a different COMPUTER. still the welcome page. I get a friend to try on his computer. Still the welcome page!!! The welcome page just won't die!!!

I then went and accessed the index.html file through the webdisk. It came up with my website. So it really is my index.html. Tried one more time. in vein. the welcome page still came up. Please help! Anyone?

Safari 2.0.4 on Mac OS X 10.4.10

After sending the site to a few more people it turns out that the PCs are getting it right and it's the macs that are screwing up (for once).

Weird, our index page isn't on your account so I'm not sure where they are getting it from...
