So i get this e-mail ansd go to dowmnload the next version to update my beta 1. But now they are charging us!1 what a jiff.

Well people HAVE been downloading from Microsoft at record rates.. it costs money for all that bandwidth..

If I were Microsoft I would've charged people $10 since the beginning..

Thats absolutley correct. Im sure they have tons of bandwith.

Office 2007 was so immensely popular, that Microsoft started charging to stem the flow of downloads and installs. Bandwidth is not the issue.
