How to buy domains with credits?

I read somewhere in the forums that you can buy a domain with credits.

How does that work?

Does someone offer a domain and you exhange it?

or do x10hosting admins/moderators have events and hold a sort of bidding contest?

Sorry to ask this, the answer might be straightforward.
but since I didn't really make that much usage of the community forum before
I never got the chance and took the time to find out :dunno:
